My wife Catherine is a huge Elton John fan.

I am not a huge Elton John fan.

Yes, I like a few of his better tunes. Tiny Dancer, Levon. Mostly, though, I hear Elton John, I hear cheese. Disney cheese. Lion King, Circle of Life, Made in England, blah … blah.

Once upon a time, however, Elton John kicked ass. Soulful. Gutsy. I never knew the above song, Amoreena, until I met Catherine. Odds are you’ve never heard it. But I dare anyone to listen and tell me it’s not a special sort of tune.
