My daughter Casey is a 6-year-old first grader. She has a nice life—takes ice skating and ballet, goes on a ton o’ play-dates, never has to worry about not having food on the table or goodies on her birthday. She’s a great kid, and I’m extremely proud of her. Extremely.
This holiday season, we decided that it’d be great for Casey to have a toy drive to provide gifts for kids in Westchester County, N.Y. who might not have presents for the holiday (For those here thinking, “Isn’t Westchester a pretty well-off place to live?” let me assure you there are many downtrodden among us.). Casey is excited about the idea, and is doing her all to get her friends and schoolmates to participate.
I would like to take this another step.
Below is Casey’s hand-written letter. Anyone here who donates an unwrapped gift to the cause will received an autographed copy of Boys Will Be Boys, my best-seller about the 1990s Dallas Cowboys.

On behalf of Casey, much thanks,

What if we live in the Midwest and would just like to mail a check?

I was wondering if you have considered setting up a Paypal account where donations could be made. The donated funds could then be used to purchase toys for the drive.

Great idea, and good luck to Casey. I second the Paypal suggestion.
