Listen to the words the McCain campaign has been using, then tell me it has nothing to do with race.
Barack Obama is the foreigner; the guy who doesn’t look or talk or act like you. You can’t trust him. He’s not one of us. He’s an evil-doer. He wants to kill you. To eat your children. Fear him. Fear his type. He’s a terrorist. A socialist. A Communist. He does not behave like an American. He’s not an American.
And this s— works. If John McCain wins, it’s a victory for the true, legitimate politics of fear.
It will sadden the hell out of me.
