In the United States there are approximately 130,000 kids looking for adoptive parents.
In the great state of Arkansas, a law was just past preventing gay couples from adopting or serving as foster parents.
I would like to vomit.
This law was strongly backed by a “Christian movement,” which means Christians committed a remarkably un-Christian act. When I bash religion (and I often do), it’s with stuff like this in mind. Do Christians truly believe this is how Christ would have behaved? Do they truly believe it’s better to leave children in a state of nothingness than to have them live in safe, loving homes?
I know the Bible sort of slams homosexuality, but, well, the Bible isn’t everything. God (if you believe in him) gifted us with brains and hearts; an ability to reason and think on the fly. If anyone—anyone—thinks it’s best in this country to marginalize and humiliate homosexuals, well, you’re damned to an eternity in hell.
If there is a hell.
