John May Lives

v-abc-anna

Just got done watching the latest episode of V.

For some reason, I decided late last year to give this show a chance. Mostly because, as a 12-year-old boy in 1984, I loved the original series. That said, I was 12, and 12-year olds have shitty taste in television shows.

Anyhow, tonight’s episode was the worst yet—and that’s saying something. So the resistence movement somehow sneaks on to the V mother ship. They get past tighter-than-tight security and somehow are able to embed a message that will be played to the entire world. This is, literally, the biggest moment in V history—an incredible opportunity to tell everyone the truth about the lizard-like aliens who wish to destroy humanity.

So what does the message say? Does it say THESE PEOPLE ARE REALLY LIZARDS WEARING HUMAN SKIN, AND THEY WANT TO KILL YOU ALL!!!!

Uh, no.

Does it say WE NEED TO RISE UP BEFORE OUR VISITORS EAT US LIKE RATS!!!

No.

The message says, simply, JOHN MAY LIVES. Which is meaningful to, oh, .00001% of the population.

Idiotic television at its best (and terrible acting, too).

  1. The ’84 original version wasn’t bad…I’ve given up on the latest incarnation.

Shame really…it’s a perfect story…only network TV could frak it up.

  2. I, too, have tuned in for almost the same reason (nostalgia). It really is a terrible show. So was the reincarnation of the Bionic Woman a few years back.

    What’s next? Alf?

They really should leave the 80s (& the 70s) tucked away nicely in our memories.
