Money Fame & Love

Eight years ago, shortly after I married The Wife, I attended the Bat Mitzvah of The Wife’s then-13-year-old sister, Jessica (aka The Doctor).

As a newly inducted part of the family, one of my jobs was to drive a bunch of Jessica’s little friends from Scarsdale, N.Y. (her hometown at the time) to Manhattan, where the event was being held. The Wife and I loaded up our car with three kids. One was a snobby little punk. One was a quiet kid. One was Lenny Skolnik.

Lenny stood out, because he was polite, funny and quirky—in nothing but a good way. As the years passed, I’d habitually say to Jessica, “How’s Lenny?” Not because I especially cared, but because, well, it was something to say. Hey. Hello. What’s up? How’s Lenny?

Anyhow, yesterday I mentioned Lenny and Jessica said, “His band is getting hot” or something like that.

“His band?”

Yeah, Money Fame & Love.

Indeed, they exist. And there’s Lenny, a student at Drexel and the long-haired dude.

Just think it’s sorta cool—”How’s Lenny?” results in a truly interesting answer.  🙂

  1. They just performed at American University the other week. They got roundly booed. In all fairness they were terrible. I’m sorry to break it to you.

  2. I was there also (I’m a student at AU). Only a few kids were booing. It got positive feedback also. I think they’ll make it.
