Every so often I Google John Rocker, just to see what he’s up to. With rare exception, I can never track him down. Meaning he’s living quietly. Which, in my opinion, is the best way to go. Why continue to live off of the reputation of being a racist, xenophobic dolt? Move on. Get a law degree. Buy a restaurant. Whatever.
This evening, however, I found John:
SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) – The folks at the Hard Rock Casino invite you to a night of fun for a good cause. Party with Scott Erickson, John Rocker and other celebrities, enjoy great hors d’oeuvres and dance the night away to the Kyle Turley Band. The fun is tonight from 6 until 9.
Probably mere coincidence, but if Rocker was the biggest jerk in baseball during the late 1990s-early 2000s, Erickson was a close second. A rude, mean-spirited man who treated people quite badly.
