Today’s cnn.com column …

… is on the NFL’s ludicrous demands over a Toyota advertisement that points out football’s (gasp!) violence.

I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again: If the league were serious about curtailing injuries, it wouldn’t be expanding the regular season from 16 to 18 games. Period.

Tell me if I’m wrong here …

  1. If the league were serious about curtailing injuries, they wouldn’t play games at all. Of course, they wouldn’t make any money and neither would the players in that case.

Ultimately, if the players really thought their risk of injury outweighed the benefits they’d get for the extra millions, they wouldn’t agree to play the extra games. My bet is they will take the money.
