Justin Bieber has something important to say about abortion (and Korea, too!)

From the new Rolling Stone:

He isn’t sure what political party he’d support if he was old enough to vote. “I’m not sure about the parties,” Bieber says. “But whatever they have in Korea, that’s bad.” He does have a solid opinion on abortion. “I really don’t believe in abortion,” Bieber says. “It’s like killing a baby.” How about in cases of rape? “Um. Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don’t know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.”

I don’t blame Bieber at all. The kid is 16. Sixteen. The question is—who cares?

  1. Millions of fans care.
I’m starting to find out that the kid is a lot smarter than a lot of “adults”. At least he understands there is a life inside. Not a choice inside.
He also doesn’t think too much of the US health system.

  2. I’m proud that my 12-year old daughter just rolls her eyes whenever he is mentioned. It’s nice to know that she has her own independent thought regarding these things…

  3. What kind of questions are those??? You are asking a 16 year old kid his opinions on rape and abortion??? I haaaaattte Rolling Stone. It’s like they are feeding him these questions just to have him trip up and say something stupid or edgy. Stupid too hip for the room magazine.

He’s just a kid. I don’t care if he’s a “celeb” I could care less what his views are and I’m sure the kids listening to his music don’t care either.

I know people like to goof on him (myself included) but STOP trying to cause a stir.

  4. He is 16.
17% of all abortions are in his age group, under 19.
56% are done between the ages 20-29.

    He is white.
53.6% of abortions are on whites.

I’m thankful he is putting thought into these things.
Almost all abortions are done as a means of birth control – 95%.
A small percentage are done because of health issues or rape.
If the people getting the abortions or getting girls pregnant aren’t mature enough to have an opinion on these things then who is?

As a society we have become more and more disrespectful toward human life. I think the acceptance of abortion is a part of the reason.
Now we read in the news of senseless killings.
Recently a pregnant woman was beaten to death by 2 brothers that had a beef with her boyfriend.
Earlier 2 guys were told to leave a frat house and came back shooting.
The stories go on and on.

When do go back to respecting human life again?

  5. i hope he knows theres a difference between NORTH korea and SOUTH korea… that is, unless he subscribes to sarah palins educational standards.

  6. jmw, you realize that had those people that committed those crimes been aborted by their mothers, then those crimes would never have taken place.

thanks for participating in the never ending game of “what if.”

  7. Jason K,
You do realize it is quite possible that someone with the makeup to cure cancer or end violence has been aborted – Thanks for participating in the never ending game of “What If”.

My point is we as a society have lost the respect of human life, abortion acceptance is Part of the problem.

Women have the right to choose not to get pregnant in the first place. Unfortunately far to many figure 3 glasses of Chardonnay is a decent birth control device.

Like the killing of that abortion doctor in Kansas? Like what “pro-lifer” George W. Bush did to Iraq?

Spare me the “society is violent because of abortion” argument. It doesn’t wash.

Those are great examples of how we as a society justify killing. Just as we justify killing children, that haven’t left the safety of the womb yet.
