Excellent song

Sometimes when you’re old and smelly, you lose touch.

My wife played me the above song yesterday. “Wow,” I said. “Dig it.” Looked it up this morning—13 million YouTube views.

Clearly I’m late to this.

  1. “Excellent” ? Really? Help me understand why? I assume you mean the message/lyrics and not the music itself. If that is the case, my guess is she is a tad hypocritical and will pocket quite a bit of cash for:

“It’s not about the money, money, money
We don’t need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world dance,
    Forget about the Price Tag
    Ain’t about the (uh) Cha-Ching Cha-Ching.
Aint about the (yeah) Ba-Bling Ba-Bling
    Wanna make the world dance,
Forget about the Price Tag. “

  2. blmeanie, I concur. I am interested to know why any adult would like this song. These are children’s lyrics with nothing-special music.

I don’t mean any offense, Jeff, but really?

    1. Man, harsh. I’m talking as the dad of a 7-year old who is subjected to an increasing number of songs that just shouldn’t reach her ears.

  3. you implied in your original post that you liked it Jeff, totally different discussion if you had liked it for your 7 yr old. I too have young kids and cringe as they navigate through music choices. Just tell us you don’t run to this song when you hit the streets…please?

  4. Ha ha, blmeanie. When I read Jeff’s post I too thought he must be speaking as a father, so I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt…but that’s not what he said.

So Jeff, what do you really, really think of the song?
