A couple of months ago I received an e-mail from Brian McKenna. He was stuck in some godforsaken fifth-world country without a wallet or a cell phone, and he needed me to send him $10,000 in cash. “As you know, I hate asking for favors like this,” he wrote. “However, when I return I will pay you back—double!”
Regrettably, I didn’t have $10,000 in cash handy, Otherwise, naturally, I would have made certain it went straight to Bri. Hell, we are close friends.
I digress. Today I received yet another e-mail from my old chum …
Sorry for any inconvenience, I’m writing this with tears in my eyes,my family and I came down here to manila,Philippines for a short vacation unfortunately we were mugged at the park of the hotel where we stayed, all cash, credit card and phones were stolen off us but luckily for us we still have our passports with us.
We’ve been to the embassy and the Police here but they’re not helping issues at all and our flight leaves in less than 10hrs from now but the hotel manager won’t let us leave until we settle the bills. I need help urgently, Though, I suffer little injury on my left arm. I have talked with the hotel manager but she insist they don’t accept a third party credit card. She further explained that the only method of payment they accept at the moment is cash.
Hoping to hear from you … Brian McKenna
Jesus Christ. What am I gonna do with this guy? I mean, his left arm is hurt, he has all these unsettled bills, he was (I’m guessing) raped and slaughtered by midget terrorists.
I like Brian as much as the next fella, but I’m starting to think he suffers from bad luck.
