For my money, the best line from any movie ever, is “Where’s your hat?” Just perfect, subtle, smart, funny. pic.twitter.com/4mh0cnXSWZ

I’m neither exaggerating or joking when I say that, for my money, the greatest single line in cinematic history comes in the final minute or two of the first Rocky. Balboa and Creed have just finished a brutal 15-round fight. Rocky is bloodied, battered, exhausted. Adrian, his girlfriend, rushes toward the ring. During the dash, her red hat falls off and into the crowd.
She reaches Rocky after Paulie sneaks her through. The first thing he says—the very first thing—is, “Where’s your hat?”
Man, I love that line. It’s simple, it’s quirky and it 100-percent works.
