The 135

Friday was one of my proudest days as a father.

The wife and I took Casey, our 6-year-old daughter, to Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, N.Y. That’s the place where, after being presented with several options, she decided to donate all the goodies from the first-ever Casey Pearlman Toy Drive. Before unloading the car, a nice woman gave the three of us a tour of the facilities. It was fantastic–a splendid rehabilitation hospital for kids up through age 19. We thought it very important for Casey to see how lucky she is; to actually observe how many people suffer with physical and mental problems.

Anyhow, after the tour we brought in all the toys—a whopping 135 total. Soooooo many of those were given via this blog, and I’d like to truly thank all of you who donated. Along with giving to a very worthy cause, you helped teach my daughter about the power and impact of giving. When we started this thing, she struggled with the idea of all these toys coming to our house—none of them for her. But then she began to understand and, I think, appreciate what she was doing.

So, again, thank you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
