I sort of like Andy Roddick as a tennis player. But behavior like this is inexcusable. OK, you’re right—it was your left foot that touched the line, not your right. But as Jon Wetheim correctly notes here, picking on this woman is pure thuggery. What are you trying to prove? Who are you trying to impress?
I hate, hate, hate when athletes pick on the innocent—Jayson Werth berating the fan, a manager punching an irritating mascot, a pissed-off player humiliating a young journalist, etc. Adds nothing, but reduces the competitor to a dolt.
