If you’re up for a truly fascinating (in a surprising sort of way) read, check out Britt McHenry’s Instagram feed, and the response to her final posting—her photo with Sidney Crosby.

There are well over 3,000 comments beneath the image. A couple discuss hockey. Some are like this (which I consider to be a reasoned and appropriate response to the towing company video that went uber viral) …

The majority, though, don’t mimic sportsnut1034. Nope the majority are foul and gross and cruel beyond cruel. Here, take a quick gander at a handful …

I’m a fan of irony, especially when it’s lost upon the participants. The No. 1 rule when it comes to this sort of stuff: If you’re going to lambast someone for inappropriate behavior, well … eh, you can’t behave inappropriately. Meaning, anyone furious with McHenry’s awful verbal slaying of the tow company clerk can’t support his/her feelings by turning to social media to call her (in no particular order) a dumb bitch, a slutbag, a cunt, a whore and a million other awful words and phrases that fill her Instagram stream.

See, by referring to Breitt McHenry as a “slutbag” (this one’s for you, mepe41), you are officially no better than she was on that night in Virginia. Just as one would ask, “Who in the world would speak to a towing company employee that way?” one can also ask, “Who would call a woman a slutbag?”

Weird, this world.

  1. Britt McHenry has a history of being rude as hell, it seems.

I’ve always liked Samantha Ponder. I hope she’s not like that.

  2. It was a good step for Britt to apologize with a social media account. I doubt she actually meant it. I doubt she actually wrote it.
If she really is truly ashamed of what she did a personal apology would be the way to go. And maybe a gift certificate for a nice meal for the receptionist.
Basically the truth is you can’t tell a book by it’s cover, Britt is a bad read.

  3. If Nellie Oleson had a social media account in 1978, she may have been called a few bad names too. I always liked Nels, though.
