There is apparently a new show on the CW, “Riverdale.” It stars, among others, Marisol Nichols, Cole Sprouse, Camila Mendes and Lili Reinhart.
Two of the bigger cast members are K.J. Apa, who plays “Archie Andrews,” and Luke Perry, the veteran TV actor who stars as “Fred Andrews,” Archie’s dad. I don’t watch much television these days, but I read about all this on Twitter.
Anyhow, in real life Apa is 19. And during the recent promotional push for “Riverdale,” he was asked whether, back in the day, he used to watch Perry in his somewhat transcendent turn as “Dylan McKay” on “Beverly Hills, 90210.”
Apa seems like a nice kid. Funny. Friendly. Smart. Engaging. And I wish him well. But his response … well, fuuuuuuuuck.
“I didn’t,” Apa said, “but my mom definitely did.”
