Was working in on of my favorite coffee joints today, J.C. Beans in Dana Point. Everything there is great. The drinks. The veggie burritos. The staff. The holiday music. The chairs.
Then he showed up.
He is the guy in the above photo. The guy on his cell phone. The guy taking a very important call. The guy pacing as he chats. The guy with the loud voice. The guy who doesn’t notice the sideways looks from patrons. The guy who doesn’t notice all of us placing on our headphones. The guy who could easily step outside, being that it’s 70 and clear. The guy who considers himself very important. The guy who is indifferent to the needs of others inside the building. The guy who goes on and on and on for 20 minutes. The guy who unknowingly bonds the other patrons.
They’re all over the place, and one spawns three, and three spawn five, and five spawn …
Truly, it’s not the volume that bothers me. It’s the indifference and the self-importance.
