JEFF PEARLMAN

I love this guy (even though he didn’t talk about my book)

So every now and then I Google my books. And while that probably makes me sound like a goober, I’m pretty sure I’m far from the only author/goober who does this type of thing.

Or, put differently—we all do. All of us. And, truly, I don’t think anyone should have a problem with that. You spend years putting a project together, it’s only natural to want to know what folks think.

And that’s how I wound up here—on a YouTube video labeled Book Review: Gunslinger by Jeff Pearlman.

I started to listen.

And listen.

And listen.

The man loves the Packers, the man knows football, the man is crazy about Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. The man … well … um … eh … didn’t discuss “Gunslinger.” Literally, not for a single moment.

But here’s the funny thing: I’m glad he didn’t. Because the earnestness of his words and delivery are so positive and heartfelt that you can’t help appreciate the man. He’s a football fan in the truest sense of the word, and it’s good to be reminded of the people you’re writing for. I’m assuming he liked “Gunslinger,” because he didn’t say anything bad (or good) about it. But it matters not.

He’s sincere.
